Travel

We have a very large membership of about 1,300 people and often feel that the work involved in planning and organising outings is not worth all our efforts when only a handful of applications appear.  Many of our members do not visit the website https://www.tu3a-travel.org.uk/ which also takes a lot time and effort to keep up to date, and this also applies to the notice board at the monthly meetings; so please make a New Year resolution to support the Team by visiting the website and contributing to its pictures and written content, by looking at the notice board and by remembering to support the outings and breaks that are organised for our U3A.  One of our members sent us a group of haikus that they had composed about the Isle of Wight holiday and another wrote pieces for the website, so do read them.  Thank you to those who took the trouble to contribute to the website.

A team of nine members plan, research and lead outings which are open to all paid-up members of Tonbridge U3A.  Visits cover a wide range of venues in congenial company.  Outings are planned for one day each month with at least one holiday each year.  Costs are kept at a reasonable level covering travel, venue, guides, when used, driver’s gratuity and admin costs and are based on a minimum number going; a full coach can mean a refund (on the majority of outings).  A combined information sheet and application form accompanies the monthly newsletter, usually the month before the outing takes place.  The places are drawn after the last day of application. Please give plenty of notice if unable to come.

LEONARDSLEE CHRISTMAS ILLUMINATIONS AND MARKET Thursday 25 November 2021

Our trip to the Christmas lights at Kew in 2018 proved extremely popular and so we have organised a visit to Leonardslee Gardens, at Lower Beeding, near Horsham for their Illuminations and Christmas Market. The Illuminations should prove to be spectacular and atmospheric, with a 60-90 minute stroll through the beautiful grounds of Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens as they come to life with
